Matariki at Kindy

On a wet, cold and soggy day room 5 and room 2 were lucky enough to head over to kindy to share some delicous kai with the kindy children.  This visit was to celebrate Matariki.  We were also lucky enough to have a play at the kindy.  At the end we sang a waiata to say thank you and the kindy children sang a song back.  Thank you Kahikitea Kindy we had a wonderful time.

Scooter Skills

Last Tuesday we had a wonderful team of people come to our class to teach us some scooter skills.  We learnt how to make sure our helmet fitted properly, how to brake on our scooter and how to do an emergency stop!  We also learnt to be safe and to be aware of hazards such as a car coming out of a driveway.

We had a competition to see who could brake the fastest.  We had a pretend ceremony and some children got an imaginary gold, silver or bronze medal.  Room 5 even sang the national anthem!
