Our Puki Ariki Visit
We went to the Puki Ariki Art Gallery to look at the amazing sculptures and art work that Len Lye created. We were most interested in his art work that was inspired by the creatures he saw in the rock pools. He looked closely at the special features, shapes and patterns on these creatures and then used his imagination to create his drawings. We used our own imaginations and drew a pencil design of a 'creature' using curves, shapes, lines, patterns and lots more. Chris our teacher at the Art Gallery then showed us the process of how to make batik art. We used wet wax and crayon. Look at how carefully we are creating our own batik from our designs.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Tina - it is great to see what our children get up to during school time.
