In Room 5 we have a daily challenge. Our challenge is for every child to "Fill their bucket". They can do this with pom poms that are given to them by the teacher for being kind, helping others, using lovely manners, and generally being a caring person. Every Wednesday when both Mrs Johnson and Mrs Parkes are in class, we count our pom poms and congratulate our winner.
We would love for you to comment on our slideshow as it grows to share the winners each week.
Great work Mrs P. I am proud of you!! What is your next learning within blogging?
ReplyDeleteMrs Johnson has taken over this task Mrs McA....isn't she clever!
DeleteI'm loving the kindness and great listening skills these Rm 5 bunnies show in the library too. They share their choices and talk about their stories quite freely.
ReplyDeleteWe are so lucky to have such enthusiastic learners Mrs Cameron ... and of course they love coming to the library - who wouldn't with you at the helm!
DeleteLoving the use of technology, well done to both of you. Your students will really benefit from the modern ways of learning. Ka pai!
ReplyDeleteKia Ora Brendon - we are loving using technology in Room 5 too!
ReplyDeleteKia Ora Room 5!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the students that have been the winners of the week in your classroom.
Hopefully the students that haven't won yet, might win another week!
I wonder who is going to be the winner of Week 7?
From Shannon. A year 6 leader.

ReplyDeleteHello class 5,
ReplyDeleteI really liked your post! I love the idea of handing out pom poms as awards! I think you can really encourage kids to be nice and helpfull. A trip we go on gives out necklaces if you do something nice for someone. If someone is nice to you, you take off your necklace and put it on the other person's neck. I think that is close to what you are doing. How old are you guys? What grade are you guys in? Please visit my blog at this link when you get the chance http://shirleys6th.edublogs.org/author/ryanne15/
Thanks, Ryanne
Hi Room 5! That's a cool idea! We just decorated buckets and spent time filling each others buckets with kind words - it's great for reminding us to be kind. We liked the idea that when you fill someone's bucket - you fill your own bucket, too! http://rsslittleeinsteins.blogspot.co.nz/2015/11/filling-buckets.html
